READING AT THE BEACH (BEGINNING)

I began this painting yesterday.  I like the way it looks right now as the woman seems to be working her way into the scene with her glasses and hat, while the boy is engrossed in his book.  I am looking forward to the texture of the sand and the texture of her bathing suit which has little dots, but for now the flatness really appeals to me.  I am going to make a coloring book for sure for my 2 year old granddaughter.  It may not be what the art world would deem a proper introduction to creating 'art', but I had so much fun with coloring books when I was growing up that I have to give her the same experience.

I love seeing a work in progress. Looks great already. Fascinating the young man has a book and not an electronic device. I take books to the beach, but never read them somehow...too much to look at!

Coloring books for the little one is a great idea. Pshaw! As you know artists don't give a hoot about what is deemed art. They do what they want to...then it's art

I'm near finished with my current painting, after a little over 2 years. You see I don't hold with the a painting a day stuff. I need a long time to get loose! lol

Looking forward to seeing more of the beach painting

Thank you Nancy, I certainly will.

I don't think you posted how big this beach painting is and I forgot to say the fore shorting is excellent
