Dreaming of Summer

I should, I think, embrace the cold as a welcome hiatus in the relentless exuberance of the natural world, always thrusting and growing.
But I really don't.  Instead I pine for summer.  Some tea in the garden with friends or family dinner at the picnic tables.  The snow is happy to gather there instead.

The older I get the less I like the cold, till now it terrifies me a bit. I send up a prayer of thanksgiving when the furnace turns on. Heat is life and the cold is death

The cold takes me away from my work as well since I must spend time battling the cold on a good many fronts; house pets, body.

However it does scape clean the non essentials. Because one only has the time and energy for the essential. It's like affirming in that way. And if we did not have winter, we could not have spring.

Yes this is the thing. Without the changes life would seem too dull.
