SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE

I have been busy traveling in Mexico via google maps the past few days.  This is 20 Principal Street in San Miguel de Allende.  There were lots of interesting spots to paint, but I finally settled on this one because of the lovely time of day and the biker looking at me from Mexico.  It is my latest contribution to the very interesting blog VIRTUAL PAINT OUT.

Nancy, this is wonderful, the feeling of the day resonates with both color and design.. Great job.

I really like the colours and mood here Nancy. Having never been to Mexico but am currently reading Barbara Kingsolver's 'The Lacuna' about a boy whose mother is Mexican and spends his younger years there eventually going to work for Diego Rivera and Frida Khalo. It is a captivating book in my opinion and your painting fits the bill!

In the meantime I read the book about the guy who was an assistant to Diego Rivera. I really enjoyed it. What an unexpected way to get a book recommendation.
Thanks again Shiela.
